Thousands of people living in larger parts of the Suva area are currently facing water cuts and it is still not clear when water supply will be restored.
The Water Authority of Fiji says the ares affected include elevated areas within Wairua, Wailoku, Delainavesi, Qauia Street to Veisari, elevated areas within Samabula, Princes Road, Tamavua to Colo-I-Suva, upper Namadi Heights, Waimanu Road, Rewa Street, Nailuva Road, Knolly Street, Duncan Road and Ratu Sukuna Road.
The interruption is due to a reduction in raw water supply from the Tamavua Water Treatment Plant which may have been caused by a blockage or a burst in pipes.
The Authority is advising its customers residing in these areas to store and use water wisely for their immediate needs during this temporary disruption period.
Water carting trucks are on standby to service the affected areas.
