The heart-racing sound of the celebration from members of the Republic of the Fiji Military Forces at the Fiji Day Parade and the 21 Gun Salute was held at Albert Park this morning.
Thousands of people witnessed the memorable occasion with the 21 gun salute being reviewed by the President Ratu Epeli Nailatikau.
Albert Park was flooded with blue as members of the public dressed up to celebrate the 44th year of Fiji’s Independence.

Meanwhile, Students from Navua, Namosi, Nausori and Suva were part of the re-enactment of the Deed of Cession in Levuka this morning.
Close to 1,400 Fijians witnessed the occasion at the 44th Fiji Day celebrations held at Nasau Park today where the Minister for Youth and Sports Laisenia Tuitubou was the chief guest.
