People from all walks of life today donated toward Communications Fiji Limited which is the parent company of Legend FM, FM96, Navtarang, Radio Sargam and Viti FM’s Walk On Walk Strong nationwide appeal for children living with cancer.

Many that came forward had connections to this killer disease while others gave trying to help children that are suffering from cancer.

The CFL family which had teams based in Suva, Nausori, Rakiraki, Tavua, Ba, Lautoka, Nadi, Navua, Sigatoka and Labasa had a successful appeal with people giving various amounts.

CFL Business Development Manager Charles Taylor said they are just shocked with the support and response from the public.

Legend FM breakfast host Alex Elbourne not only shaved his head but also had something else shaved for the Shave It Or Save It campaign.

Also FM96 personalities Amelia and Maree shaved their heads.

Despite the rainy cold wet conditions in the capital city, hundreds braved the rain just to be part of the CFL family street appeal from Nausori to Suva with the team arriving at the home of Fijivillage a few minutes ago.

Meanwhile, thousands of people this morning took part in the Walk On Walk Strong walk from the Vodafone Arena to Suva Grammar and back to the arena.

Walk On Walk Strong foUnder Sina Kami said the turnout has just been overwhelming.

16-year-old cancer patient Esther Lagi who had wished for a wheelchair got more than she had asked for this morning.

This is after Brumbies winger and former Queen Victoria School student Henry Speight presented the wheelchair to her which was donated by the Walk On Walk Strong Campaign.

Esther Lagi said at first she was excited about getting her new wheelchair but when she saw Henry Speight presenting it, she was over the moon.

Lagi who was diagnosed with cancer last year said to see the amount of people supporting this cause is just unbelievable.

Brumbies Winger Henry Speight said the campaign should not end here.

Meanwhile, donations from all over the country continue to pour in toward the Walk On Walk Strong Campaign which helps raise funds for children living with cancer.

People from all walks of life have visited the home of Fijivillage at 231 Waimanu Road or locations in Suva, Nausori, Rakiraki, Tavua, Ba, Lautoka, Nadi, Navua, Sigatoka and Labasa to give whatever they can.

A female beggar in Rakiraki today donated $50 to our team based there.

Also a man whose wife suffers from cancer also donated.

80 Rakiraki drivers donated $375.

Today students of Richmond Methodist school in Kadavu have also started their own campaign.

Principal Milika Boletawa said the students were encouraged after listening to reports from our sister station Viti FM.

The students will present their donations to the home of Legend FM next week.

41 people have all shaved their heads for the Shave Or Save It campaign at the Vodafone Arena.

This included FM96 announcers Amelia and Maree.

If you want to make donations, the Westpac Suva CFL Appeal account number is 9800935794.
