This work requires passion, and you need to understand what is your purpose, and that should be reflected in your work.
Retired Deputy Commissioner Eroni Antonio highlighted this to members of the Constable Qualifying Course training at the Lautoka Police Training room and those joining via Zoom from Rakiraki and Ba during the Police Remembrance Day commemorations held in the Western Division.
The former DCP did not mince his words as he stressed on the importance of service.
DCP Antonio asked them if they understood what the blue culture is, stressing that when they walk in town, they don’t walk freely, they’re getting paid to work, that’s service.
He says if they have the proper knowledge of their work, they won’t be scared of anything, they will have the courage to address something that is wrong.
DCP Antonio says a good and honest police officer is one that can work with minimum or no supervision at all.
He says they are trusted to do what you they taught to do and know that what is right is right, what is wrong is never right.
Retired officers present during Friday’s Remembrance Day celebrations were also given a tour of the new Lautoka Police Station.
