"They are the citizens of this country and not visitors and this is why they are investing in the projects in the country."
Minister for Employment, Youth and Sports, Parveen Bala stated this while speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony for the building and installing of a gas fired cremation facility at Raralevu in Nausori.
Bala says there are many people thinking about the future and helping the community, while not thinking they are visitors.
Over $400,000 has been collected by the Raralevu Cemetery Committee for the construction of the facility and the funds have come through donations from companies and individuals.
The total cost of the project is over $600,000.
The facility is expected to be ready in four months time.
Bala says the government has been advocating on climate change and this project will set an example for people to move away from cutting and burning mangroves.
