Minister for Health Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete has confirmed that there is no shortage in Benzathine Penicillin which is commonly known as Benza.
Dr Waqainabete says people that are in need of Benza and are seen by private practitioners can take the relevant paperwork to their nearest health centre and get their Benza dosage from there.
This is after Fijivillage received reports that some pharmacies do not have Benza in stock in Suva.
Benza is an antibiotic used for the treatment of a number of bacterial infections.
It is specifically used to treat strep throat and prevent rheumatic fever.
