National Federation Party candidate, Lenora Qereqeretabua says there has been a lot of wastage as the same roads are being repaired in a short period of time and it is not cheap.
While speaking in a talanoa discussion in Raiwaqa, Qereqeretabua highlighted the issues regarding the national debt increase, and she asks how many times are the roads being sealed near some houses.
Qereqeretabua says the stretch on Princes Road from the Australian High Commission to Kundan Singh Supermarket had just been repaired and now potholes have appeared everywhere after there was a huge deluge of rain.
She says they can reduce the debt and spending by reducing the import bills and producing a lot more food here instead of bringing in so much from overseas.
She says the government is supposed to be looking after primary health care and hospitals have not been fixed well enough to look after the people.
