National Federation Party’s provisional candidate Riddhi Damodar says that she is a Fijian Citizen and that her name on the Fijian Passport is Riddhi Damodar.
On her Facebook page, she says she did get divorced and the only reason she did not change her name was because her daughter has the Damodar surname on her passport.
She says that this was done with the consent of her in law keeping her then 1-year-old daughter in mind.
She further says yesterday when her name was announced neither the party or herself made any reference to her association with Div Damodar, Damodar Family and Damodar Group of Company.
Meanwhile, Damodar Group of Companies CEO Div Damodar had yesterday said that it is unfortunate that National Federation Party’s provisional candidate and his ex‑wife, Riddhi Damodar is using the Damodar name even after their divorce in February 2016.
Div Damodar says the Damodar family and the group of companies do not have any involvement in Riddhi’s political ambition and aspirations as the company is apolitical.
