High Court Judge, Justice Salesi Temo says the court is very careful when assessing matters of domestic violence as lots of marital fights are now leading to murder.

Justice Temo made these comments while denying bail to a man who is charged with rape and assault causing actual bodily harm of his wife.

He says every Sunday the church is full and on Monday the courtroom is also full.

Justice Temo says it is sickly news in a small country like Fiji.

Justice Temo says marriage is not a license to abuse the wife.

He added that all men must understand that when they marry a woman they do not own the woman.
