A temporary structure where the existing Vatuwaqa Bridge now stands will be built around May or June this year.
Fiji Roads Authority Chief Executive Officer Neil Cook said they are currently working on the design.
Cook added the temporary structure or deck will be restricted to one lane traffic only.
Traffic signals he said will also be placed at each end of the structure to ease traffic flow.
Cook said high priority is also being given to this temporary structure given the inconvenience on other roads where traffic is now being re-routed through.
Meanwhile FRA has given no time frame on the reopening of the Stinson Parade Bridge as no simple temporary solution is available as yet.
