Fire at Nabua

The Laxmi Narayan Temple, a three bedroom house and a kindergarten hall were destroyed in an early morning fire at Luke Street in Nabua.

Anup Sharma whose father is a priest at the temple says they suspect arson because their car alarm went on just before the incident.

Sharma says that his vehicle window was also broken.

He says his vehicle alarm alerted him and when he looked out of the house he saw nobody around.

Sharma says that after a while a neighbor called them alerting them about the fire.

He says that they managed to come out of the building and no one was hurt during the incident.

According to Sharma the cost of damage to the Laxmi Narayan Temple is approximately $400,000.

Meanwhile a witness told Fijivillage that at around 1.25am, his car alarm went on and when he woke up he saw smoke coming out of the roof of the temple.

He says he called the temple priest and told him about the smoke coming out and he also saw a man walking.

NFA says the investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire.
