Telecom Fiji has assured people that Telecom did not encounter any major breakdown to any of their 47 major exchanges and radio transmission stations.
CEO, Charles Goundar says that Telecom infrastructure is still intact after Tropical Cyclone Sarai hit Fiji last week.
Goundar says they will be conducting a more detailed assessment, especially the passive network elements like tower structures to double-check.
He says, depending on the outcome of the assessment they will decide what to do and share the plan with their customers.
Goundar says that due to power outages, most of the remote roadside nodes were offline so they had to run their own portable generators to get them online.
He says only some residential customers and those in remote islands are having issues due to power outages.
