Telecom Fiji Limited has donated $7000 to Save the Children Fiji as a sponsorship for the Telecom Fiji Ambrose Golf Tournament.

This tournament is a charity event which helps further the cause of protection of children and this is the third year that Telecom Fiji has been sponsoring the event.

Telecom Fiji Limited CEO, Charles Goundar says this is part of their corporate social responsibility to Fijians where they show their support to a number of charity events.

Goundar says he understand the need for communities to engage more in spreading awareness on child protection as he wouldn’t want children to go through any traumatic experiences.

Chief Executive Officer of Save the Children Fiji, Shairana Ali, says having a corporate organisation such as Telecom on board gives them greater confidence in carrying out their work and also it inspires them to continue their work in making a difference in children’s lives.

He says all the money collected from this event is directed to the existing Save the Children Fiji’s programs in Fiji.
