Fiji Water Flying Fijians and former Swire Shipping Fijian Drua flyhalf Teti Tela has decided to retire from first-class rugby after two seasons with the Drua in the Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific Competition.
During the announcement of the Drua squad for next season, CEO Mark Evans praised Tela as one of the vital members of the squad for the past 2 seasons making 24 Super Rugby appearances for the side.
Evans says Tela has made positive impacts on his teammates during his time with the Drua and it is profound.
He says Tela is an outstanding player and everyone in the team admires his professionalism and he will be totally missed by the club.
He adds Tela now has a family and the team knows he will be cheering for the team from the stands with his family.
Tela leaves the Fijian Drua as the current leading points scorer with 124 points.
The Fijian Drua will have a total of 7 home games next season.
They will kick off their season in Auckland against the Blues on 23rd February 2024.
