Teams sent throughout the country to fix pot holes on roads

The Fiji Roads Authority has sent teams throughout the country to fix pot holes on roads that appeared after the Tropical Depression last week.

FRA says they have 15 teams in the Central Division, 14 in the Western division and 11 in the Northern Division and they continue to deploy extra staff as needed.

FRA CEO John Hutchinson says they understand the inconvenience and damages caused by potholes and they are trying their best to fix them but it will take a few weeks to get the situation under control again.

He says some of the roads have not been resealed for more than 10 years and the lack of waterproofing maintenance leads to potholes adding the FRA is engaged in a 10-year plan to reconstruct the old and damaged roads.
