Team Fiji athletes and officials were hosted to a dinner and also accorded a sevusevu by members of the Fijian community in Paris last night.
Linda Acker who has been living in Paris for the last 23 years says the Fijian Community in Paris is very tight knit and she was liasing with former Flying Fijians winger Fero Lasagavibau and former All Blacks winger Joe Rokocoko on organising the dinner.
An emotional Acker says no matter how many years they have been away, Fiji is and always will be in their heart.
Rokocoko says it was a chance for the Fijian Community to say thank you to the Olympians for all the hard work and sacrifices they have made to come this far to raise the Fiji flag.
He says the athletes represent every Fijian not only in Fiji but around the world as well.
Team Fiji Chef de Mission Sale Sorovaki says they are thankful to the Fijian Community for having them and it also gave him a chance to catch up with former team mate Fero and his family.
