A 48-year old taxi driver who allegedly attempted to rape a 19-year woman on the 26th of last month in Suva has been remanded in custody by Suva Magistrate, Waleen George.
Bera Yalimaiwai has been charged with one count of attempted rape.
It is alleged that Yalimaiwai took girl who was a passenger in his taxi to an isolated place where the alleged incident occurred.
His bail application was rejected by Magistrate George because Yalimaiwai has pending matters.
The case will be called again next Friday.
