Former Fiji U20 utility back and Moana Pasifika winger Timoci Tavatavanawai has been named to start for the Moana Pasifika in their 2023 Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific round 1 clash with the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua on Saturday.
The 25-year-old featured prominently for Moana Pasifika in their Super Rugby debut season last year scoring 2 tries in 8 games with some barnstorming runs that caught the attention of the rugby world.
Originally from Naikawaga, Namara in Tailevu, the former Queen Victoria School student was signed by Moana Pasifika in October 2021 after an impressive season with the Tasman Makos in the National Provincial Championship on the same year.
Tavatavanawai will be on the left wing for Moana Pasifika and will be lining up against his former Fiji U20 teammate Tuidraki Samusamuvodre.
The Moana Pasifika will take on the Fijian Drua at 3.35pm on Saturday at Mt. Smart Stadium, Auckland.
