The Fiji Cancer Society has today received assistance to support people living with cancer as Panamex New Zealand and their distribution partner Tappoo Group of Companies has donated much needed diapers and sanitary pads.

They donated Puredays Adult Diapers and PureDays Fem Hygiene Sanitary Pad for patients that are under the care of the Fiji Cancer Society.

Tappoos Business Development Manager Shyrin Pritika Nand says the donations this morning will help the patients battling with cancer who are bedridden and do not have financial help or any access to shops as well.

Nand says they are collaborating with Fiji Cancer Society to help lighten the burden for the patients and the society.

She says this is not for marketing purposes but a gesture of goodwill for those with cancer and to create more awareness about the work they do at the Fiji Cancer Society.

Fiji Cancer Society Programs Officer Shweta Kapoor says they are indebted to Tappoo Fiji for always reaching out to them, which has had a huge positive impact on cancer patients and their Society.

Kapoor says this donation will have a profound effect on their patients and will help roll out their services in terms of patient support.

She says they are an NGO, and they don't get direct funding from the Government, so when Tappoos came on board, it helped strengthen their programs and services.

When questioned by fijivillage News, on what type of program they are doing at the moment, kapoor says it is a community-affiliated program.

Kapoor says people should present themselves for checkups, and emphasized on early detection.
