SODELPA General Secretary, Viliame Takayawa says he had to go to the Totogo Police Station last week after some people from the party’s Suva Constituency came to the headquarters and allegedly threatened to assault him when he refused to receive the new members appointed in a flawed process.
While speaking on a special fijivillage Straight Talk With Vijay Narayan, Takayawa says these people wanted him to receive documents from the Suva Constituency that would result in changes to the management board membership however he says proper processes were not followed.
Takayawa says if this would have been done, it would have split the Suva Constituency representatives into two.
He says he is concerned it has reached this level and they need to stop the bullying, they need to respect the majority and stop being elitists.
Takayawa also says he wants to remove the tag that SODELPA now has which is a ‘liu muri’ party.
