The Acting CEO of the Tertiary Scholarship and Loans Service, Dr. Hasmukh Lal says TSLS has so far disbursed around $32 million through M-PAiSA to students in the last 4 years.

He highlighted this while renewing its agreement with Vodafone Fiji that allows students to continue receiving their allowance payment on M-PAiSA.

The Acting CEO says on an annual basis, around 4,000 students are paid their allowance through this service, totaling $8 million.

A student of Fiji National University, Ashna Prasad says at a time when university learning was only possible through online platforms, the exclusive mobile data and voice and SMS offers available through M-PAiSA was a big help.

Vodafone Acting Chief Marketing Officer, Shailendra Prasad says they understand the many challenges students have to go through before they can access their allowance.

He says through the platform, they are trying to address these pain point for the students.
