Former All Blacks halfback TJ Perenara is looking at building on his 70 percent recovery to get on the field and play good rugby for the Hurricanes at this year’s Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific.
The 31-year-old is recovering from an achilles tendon injury that he suffered in the 25-25 draw with England at the end of 2022.
Perenara says he set his goals broad for a year, then narrowed them down to his short-term goals, and his short-term goal is to get back and do full-team training.
He says he hopes to see more improvement in his leg when the Hurricanes return to training after the holiday break.
The Hurricanes will kick off their Super Rugby Pacific season against the Western Force on the 23rd of next month.
Meanwhile, the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua will meet the Blues in their first match on the 24th of next month.
