The Suva Methodist Circuit today shared the message of love and its calling by organising a food drive to fulfill God's calling by caring for those in need this Christmas.
Today, members of the Suva Circuit collected basic food items and Christmas gifts that were contributed by some members of their circuit so people could have food and hope during this festive season.
Chairman of the Suva Circuit Social Services Committee, Akuila Tawake says the message every Christmas is quite clear which is to share their love just like it's been said in Proverbs 19 verse 17, Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed.
Tawake says thanks to the blessing and the almighty's guidance they have been consistently organising food drives since 2020 during the COVID-19 outbreak.
He says due to the challenges their members have gone through, they have managed to continue to do so until today.
He adds that the main objective of the food drive is to encourage all Fijians to come together and contribute and also help those in need of food and Christmas presents.
The Chairman says the basic food items that are collected will be distributed to families living under the Housing Assistance and Relief Trust and families who are struggling in their circuit.
