Suva Grammar School Principal, Chandra Segran Pillay says they managed to achieve an overall pass rate of 60% this year despite the challenges faced by the school.
While speaking at the 59th annual prize-giving ceremony of Suva Grammar School, Pillay said 60% of the students of Suva Grammar are living outside the school zone.
He also commended the efforts of the old scholars of the school for assisting them in achieving the best for the students.
95 students were awarded for their hard work in this academic year while 113 year 13 students have graduated from the school.
The dux will be announced later today.
Education Minister, Rosy Akbar has commended the efforts of all students and teachers for a successful academic year at Suva Grammar.
Akbar stressed that the $2.7 million reduction in the Education Ministry's grant will not put any pressure on the parents and free education will continue next year.
The Minister says government has allocated a total of $63.7 million for tuition fees and $23 million for bus fare for this financial year.
