The fifth shop of the Supercuts Barber Shop was officially opened at the FNPF mall in Greg Street Suva this morning.
Minister for Industry, Trade and Tourism Faiyaz Koya while opening the shop commended the hard work and dedication of the 35-year-old entrepreneur who came to Suva from Seaqaqa with only $40 in his pocket.
Koya says that this is the first time in Fiji when men will be able to take advantage of such a lavish environment while having their hair cut.
The new shop has a VIP room for customers who make appointments while the rest are also treated to a five star waiting room area with state of art facilities.
The owner of Supercuts Barber Shop Faizal Hussein says the cost of setting up his latest branch is $75,000.
Hussein says he now wants to focus on providing the best possible service at his new branch.
Hussein was only able to attain education up to form three and first came to Suva when he was 17-years-old looking for better work opportunities.
Hussein says he started off as a cleaner at a barber shop in Suva however the shop was badly damaged during the 2000 coup and later closed.
Soon after, Hussein started his first shop in Nabua with only a wooden chair and a mirror.
Meanwhile, some other shops that have already been opened at the FNPF mall are Elit Lock Smiths, Her Gorgeous Expressions, Koko Hair and Wellness Spa, Bondwell and Gloria Jeans.
Meanwhile, FNPF’s Chief Operating Officer Jaoji Koroi earlier told us that the cost of the mall at Greig Street in Suva is close to $17 million.
