Fijian Drua walloped 46-17 by Waratahs

The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua lost 46-17 to the Waratahs in their Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific Super Round clash tonight.

The Drua had themselves to blame as the Waratahs capitalized on the Drua’s indiscipline to score points.

Waratahs scored the first try through hooker Dave Porecki in the 10th minute to lead 7-0 before Muntz converted a penalty to close the gap to 7-3.

Joe Tamani scored a converted try in the 31st minute to give the Drua a 10-7 lead before Tane Edmend levelled the score with a penalty conversion for the Waratahs as both teams headed into half-time locked at 10-10.

The Drua captain Tevita Ikanivere scored in the 43rd minute of play with Caleb Muntz adding the extras for a 17-10 lead.

The Waratahs took advantage of the Drua’s errors to score 5 more tries.

Fijian Drua captain Ikanivere says indiscipline let them down later in the second spell and they will be working on that area as they prepare for their home game clash against the Crusaders next week at Churchill Park in Lautoka.

In another match earlier tonight, the Chiefs walloped Moana Pasifika 52-29.

In tomorrows game, the Blues will play the Brumbies at 3pm followed by the Reds vs Western Force match at 5.30pm
