Drua falls to third defeat of the 2024 season after a 29-46 loss to the Chiefs

The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua fell to their third defeat of the season after a 29-46 loss to the Chiefs in their Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific round 4 clash tonight in Hamilton.

A much-improved performance from the Chiefs in the second half proved to be the difference in the game after the teams went into halftime with a 24-17 lead to the home side.

The Chiefs scored three converted tries to Kaylum Boshier, Cortez Ratima and Daniel Rona along with a successful penalty from flyhalf Damien McKenzie while the Drua scored two converted tries to centre Iosefo Masi and a penalty kick to Isaiah Armstrong-Ravula.

The Chiefs scored a further three tries to Etene Nanai-Seaturo, Boshier and Shaun Stevenson with another successful penalty conversion from McKenzie.

The Drua scored two more tries through replacement lock Te Ahiwaru Cirikidaveta and Kemueli Valetini with only 1 successful conversion from Armstrong-Ravula.

Despite the loss, the Drua managed to secure a bonus point for scoring 4 tries in the match.

In other matches played, the Hurricanes beat the Crusaders 14-10, the Reds thrashed the Rebels 53-26, Moana Pasifika beat the Western Force 22-14 and the Brumbies beat the Highlanders 27-21.

The Waratahs are currently playing the Blues in the final match of the Super Rugby Pacific round 4.
