Army are the new 2024 Ratu Sukuna Bowl Rugby League champions after defeating Police 28-6 at the HFC Bank Stadium this morning.

The two teams played a magnificent game as they were backed by their families who came out in numbers to show their support.

Army started off confidently, securing the opening try through Sanaila Vala and the second by Leo Tukana, pushing their lead to 12-0 as they headed into the break.

Army managed to score another 4 tries in the second half and a penalty to secure the win.

Best player of the match Sanaila Vala told fijivillage News that before they left the army camp this morning, their only focus was to claim the title, and they are happy with the result.

In other results, the Police womens touch rugby team have defended their title by securing a 4-3 win against Army at the drop-off stage.

Games are in full swing, including Touch Rugby at Buckhurst Park, followed by a rugby match between the development teams at 11 am, and an over-40s game at noon at Bidesi Park.
