Good news for thousands of members of the Sugar Cane Growers Fund as they will now be able to access loans and use their Fiji National Provident Fund housing eligibility for several housing-related purposes.
The Sugar Cane Growers Fund is now an approved lender, recognized by the Fiji National Provident Fund.
Sugar Cane Growers Fund Board Director and Chairman of the Board Credit Committee Tevita Madigibuli says this opens up opportunities for members of FNPF and Sugar Cane Growers Fund to purchase cane farms with or without existing homes and reduce or clear existing house loans.
Madigibuli says they intend to provide a wide range of services to the growers and those who need funding in the sugar industry.
He adds they will be launching a “Back to Farm” campaign by the end of December this year where farmers can clear full or part of their loan through rebates.
Sugar Cane Growers Fund has 11,317 members.
Meanwhile, FNPF CEO Jaoji Koroi says FNPF is always supportive of initiatives that will ensure the social protection of its members.
Koroi says this partnership with Sugar Cane Growers Fund offers an opportunity to make a difference in the sugar industry.
