Students of Waidra Muslim Primary School in Baulevu now have complete access to their library, computer and language rooms.
The Japanese government through their Embassy’s Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects Programme handed over four fully furnished classroom blocks, a sickbay and two administrative rooms worth $167,349 to the school.
The students were earlier sharing classrooms and using other facilities such as the library, computer room, prayer room, and language classrooms as classrooms.
Speaking at the handing over ceremony, Counsellor and Deputy Head of Mission Tsuguyoshi Hada says these improvements will raise the quality of the education and provide a good learning environment for the students.
The Japanese government since 1990 has provided US$25 million worth of assistance to Fiji.
