Students of the University of the South Pacific have lined up along the roads within the USP Laucala Campus as they await the arrival of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle this morning.

Students and Staff of USP will have a chance to meet the Duke and Duchess as Prince Harry will speak in his capacity as Commonwealth Youth Ambassador and Meghan Markle will also say a few words.

Students of Veiuto Primary School, Stella Marist Primary School, Sacred Heart College and Saint Marcellin Primary School have lined up along Queen Elizabeth Drive hoping to catch a glimpse of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex when they make their way to USP.

Police have confirmed that traffic officers will be deployed ahead of time to direct traffic along the routes that will be taken by the Royal Couple.

Earlier this morning the Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry laid a Wreath at the War Memorial at Vuya Road in Nasese where he met a number of Fijian war veterans, some of whom served with the British Armed Forces.

Following the arrival of the Duke a moment of silence was observed where he laid a wreath.

Also present were RFMF Commander Rear Admiral Viliame Naupoto and Police Commissioner, Sitiveni Qiliho.

Residents along Vuya Road got out of their homes and students of Suva Grammar School and International School Suva broke out in cheers as the motorcade approached the War Memorial.

At 11am this morning the Duke will travel to Colo i Suva Forest Park and the Duchess to the British High Commissioner’s Residence before taking a tour of the Suva Market at 11.30am.
