LTA is trying to get a law in place to take care of the issue of students jumping out of bus windows at bus stops.
LTA CEO Naisa Tuinaceva said they have not received any complaints yet but they are well aware of the issue.
It has been noticed that some students tend to jump out of bus windows so that they do not have to go past standing passengers.
Tuinaceva said they are addressing the issue at their road safety education school program where they visit all the schools in the country every school term.
Meanwhile, the Fiji Bus Operators Association General Secretary Rohit Latchan said there is a passengers code of conduct where passengers should behave in a orderly behavior where they are safe and to see other passengers are safe.
Tuinaceva said jumping or boarding through windows of buses is wrong and extremely dangerous and also disrespectful for other passengers and motorist.
He said parents must emphasise this point to their children and general public must stand up and openly talk or condemn such action.
Latchan is asking passengers to take responsibility of their safety which is very important.
