A strong wind warning is in force for the land areas of Fiji.
Nadi Weather Office Director, Ravin Kumar says a tropical disturbance was analysed to the far northwest of Fiji, near Vanuatu this morning and is currently slow moving.
He says the tropical disturbance is anticipated to possibly intensify into a Tropical Depression and move towards Fiji and the associated cloud, rain and strong winds will affect the country from tomorrow night.
A trough of low pressure with associated cloud and rain also lies to the north of Fiji and is gradually drifting south towards Fiji.
People can expect occasional rain with isolated heavy falls and few thunderstorms over Vanua Levu, the eastern parts and the interior of the larger islands.
Localised heavy falls may lead to flash flooding.
Kumar says the Weather Office will release more details this afternoon.
