Stop thinking you are macho or strong and get tested for prostate cancer.
This is the message from the Fiji Cancer Society as Movember is set to start tomorrow.
Movember is an annual event involving the growing of moustaches during the month of November to raise awareness of men's health issues, such as prostate cancer and men's suicide.
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer among men.
Fiji Cancer Society Admin Support Officer Shiuwani Devi says the money that is raised during the month long awareness movement is used for patient care and support.
She says the challenge is tackling the mentality that men have about getting tested.
In support of Prostate Cancer Awareness month, Vinod Patel Home and Living launched their “ Grow a Mo to Save a Bro “.
All funds raised will used to fight prostate cancer.
Vinod Patel CEO Veeral Patel led the “ Grow a Mo to Save a Bro” initiative by having a clean shave for the first time in two years.
