Half way through day one of the Coca Cola Games and the competition is heating up as Saint Thomas from Lautoka has taken a surprise lead in the Girls division over champions Adi Cakabau School.
Suva Grammar is currently leading the Boys Division and for the latest we cross over to our News Director Vijay Narayan at the TFL Stadium.
It looks like a close tussle in the Senior Boys 100 metres finals tonight in the 2009 Coca Cola Games as Grammar sprinters, Mataiasi Savou and Sireli Degei both won their heats this afternoon.
Savou of Grammar beat the favourite Sila Central's Tevita Nalovo in the 100 metres heats while Degei again of Grammar beat Queen Victoria School's Jocame Waqavonovono and Natabua's Alfred Smith.
Savou clocked the fastest time from all the heats with a time of 10.89 seconds and Degei has the second fastest time of 10.94 seconds.
