World champions, Springboks have been given a 48-hour deadline by SANZAAR to resolve their internal issues and confirm their participation in the Rugby Championship.
There have been speculations that South Africa won’t compete due to their ongoing concerns on lack of preparation with their domestic Super Rugby competition resuming after a six-month layoff because of COVID-19.
The SANZAAR member unions have agreed to provide South Africa Rugby with an additional 48 hours to finalise its internal stakeholder discussions.
South Africa are scheduled to play Argentina in their tournament opener in Brisbane on November 7.
