Speed dating is being introduced in Nadi by the Swami Vivekananda College Ex Scholars Association this year.

Swami Vivekananda Ex Scholars Association Chairman Vineel Nand states that the speed dating is set to happen on 10th February however the venue is yet to be confirmed.

Nand says they intend to create an environment where Ex‑Scholars, Teachers, families and friends will get a chance to get together, socialize, and enjoy to the fullest to bring back the memories of their school days.

He states that speed dating is the easiest way to meet up twenty single people in one night without the hassle of trying to find eye contact.

He has invited participants and volunteers from various ethnic groups and cultures to participate in the speed dating.

Nand says the funds raised from this event will go towards the education of current students.

He is suggesting that volunteers come with an open mind and try not to take it too seriously.

Volunteers will be welcomed by a host when they arrive and will be supplied with a scorecard and name badge.

Once all the speed daters have arrived the host will get everybody to sit down at the table with the same number as the badge they are wearing.

The host will be volunteers and a brief explanation of how Speed Dating works and are feel free to ask any questions.

After 3‑5 minutes the host will ask to move on to the next person and will repeat itself until all speed daters are visible.

Nand highlights that the main purpose of this Association was to create a network among all ex-students in Fiji and overseas.
