As the Muslim community begin their month of fasting or Ramadan for Eid, the Fiji Muslim League says it will be a particularly special month for them as they will not be under any specific COVID-19 restriction.
League President, Hafiz-Ud-Dean Khan says they had a very isolated and locked up celebrations in the past two years so this is going to be very special and they are looking forward to it.
Khan however says that while the restrictions are lifted, they request the people to abide by certain rules including social distancing in the mosques and maintaining personal hygiene.
He adds Ramadan is one month where they do a lot more charity and food distribution.
Eid is expected to be celebrated on May 1st.
