Speaker asks some Opposition members to stop yelling

Speaker of Parliament Dr Jiko Luveni had to stand up and ask some members of Opposition to stop yelling unnecessarily this morning.

Dr Luveni had to stop the proceeding while Minister for Lands Mereseini Vuniwaqa was speaking due to continuous shouting from the Opposition side.

Vuniwaqa was speaking about landowners getting a share of royalties based on the volume of minerals extracted.

A Point of Order was also raised by Niko Nawaikula while the Minister of Lands was delivering her speech.

Acting Prime Minister Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said parliamentarians cannot accuse other MPs of being liars in Parliament.
