Souness joins NZ 7s

New Zealand 7s coach Gordon Tietjens has recalled Ben Souness into his 12 member team for the Dubai and South Africa 7s.

Souness was called into the New Zealand side as a replacement for Scott Curry, who injured his ankle in Gold Coast.

Meanwhile, Tietjens is adamant there is no panic in the squad after the loss to Fiji, and is confident his new look side will bounce back in Dubai.

Tietjens believed New Zealand played some dumb footy in the final, but would learn from that game.

New Zealand is in Pool B with USA, Portugal and South Africa.

Their first match is against USA at 7.48pm this Friday.

Meanwhile Fiji’s first game is against Argentina at 7:04pm on Friday.

At 10.46pm Fiji takes on United Arab Emirates.

On Saturday morning at 4.06, Fiji takes on Samoa.
