The Blues will not have the services of Hoskins Sotutu when they take on the Brumbies this Friday in round 4 of Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific after the Foul Play Review Committee found him guilty of committing a dangerous tackle and suspending the player for three weeks.
The tackle, which resulted in a red card, occurred in the 75th minute of the match between the Blues and the Hurricanes last Saturday.
The Committee determined the act of foul play merited a mid-range entry point of six weeks/matches.
In light of the player accepting he committed an act of foul play as well as mitigating factors such as the player's disciplinary record, the Committee applied the full 50 percent reduction in sanction.
Sotutu will miss Friday’s match against the Brumbies, he will also miss their match against the Chiefs next Saturday and also the match against the Crusaders on the 22nd of this month.
Meanwhile, the Blues will face the Brumbies at 6.05pm on Friday.
