Heavy Rain Alert in place Central, Eastern, Northern, Southern Bua, Cakaudrove Province and Yasawa Group

As flood waters have yet to fully recede from the heavy rain last night in the Central Division, some roads remain closed to all traffic.

The Fiji Roads Authority says areas around Naitasiri which include Naisogo Road, Wailase Road, Waila Road, Dawakoto Road, Vugalei Cocoa Road, Vatulili Road and Koronivia Road which is partially closed.

FRA says they will continue to monitor the situation and provide further updates as needed.

A Heavy Rain Alert remains in force for the Central and Eastern Division, Southern Bua and Cakaudrove Province and is now in force for rest of Northern Division and Yasawa Group.

A trough of low pressure remains slow moving over the Fiji group and associated cloud and rain affects the Fiji group.

It is expected to gradually ease from the west from later today and clear the group by later tomorrow.
