Mahendra Narayan who owns a restaurant in Walu Bay has set aside $2000 to assist Fijians who are facing challenges

Mahendra Narayan who owns a restaurant in Walu Bay has set aside $2000 to assist Fijians who are facing challenges due to the effects of COVID-19.

Narayan has requested people to contact him and he will be transferring either $50 or $20 through M-Paisa to each family tomorrow based on the number of requests received.

He says he previously planned on giving ration packs but later decided on giving cash donation because it is easier and will provide some urgent relief to affected families.

Narayan says he cannot go out and see if the requests are genuine or not but he is urging people to only contact him if they urgently need assistance because these are challenging times for most families.

Narayan adds he has received a number of requests so far and majority are from Lautoka while some are from Narere.

He says this is a small help from his family and he hopes this will encourage other people who own businesses to come forward and assist families in need.

Narayan says no one is capable of helping everyone on their own but a little help from those who can would mean a lot for the affected families.
