Nadroga has claimed the Skipper Cup Senior Men's title after beating defending champions Suva 22-17 in a tightly contested final at Ratu Cakobau Park this afternoon.
Nadroga drew first blood in the 1st half scoring through flyhalf Joeli Baleilevuka who converted his own try for a 7-0 lead before Suva replied with a penalty kick at goal by Inia Tawalo to trail 7-3.
Baleilevuka extended Nadroga's lead to 10-3 with a penalty kick at goal heading into the break.
Suva skipper Mosese Naiova opened the scoring in the second half to draw them level at 10-all.
Baleilevuka scored his second converted try of the match to give them a 17-10 lead before Naiova scored his second try of the match to level the score at 17-all.
Nadroga winger Anasa Tuitai scored the winning try of the match in the dying stages of the game to give them the win.
Meanwhile the Suva Women's U20 won the ANZ Marama Championship U20 competition after beating Nadi 27-15 in the final, the Suva Senior Women defended the ANZ Marama Championship Senior trophy after beating Namosi 31-29 and Nadroga scooped the Skipper Cup Men's U20s title beating Naitasiri 43-36.
