Six records have been broken so far in the Triple N Zone Athletics meet underway at the ANZ National Stadium.
Three of those records were broken by athletes from Adi Cakobau School.
Naomi Navuga of ACS set a new record in the Senior Girls 100 metres heat this morning. She ran a manual time of 12.72 seconds.
The previous record was 13.02 seconds and it was set by Alaiwalu Rayawa of ACS in 2016.
In the Sub-Junior Girls 100 metres heat, Leilani Naiyaga of ACS ran a manual time of 12.43 seconds.
She broke the record set by Jessie Vakaloloma of ACS in 2015 which was 12.53 seconds.
Yvonne Nalewabau of ACS also set a new record of 1.45 metres in the Senior Girls High Jump.
The previous record of 1.28 metres was set in 2015.
There were two records broken in the 1,500 metres.
Rosivela Matanimeke of Waidina Secondary School set a new record of 5.07.26 seconds in the Sub-Junior Boys 1,500 metres.
The previous record of 5.27.76 seconds was set in 2017.
Jemesa Niukula of Wainimala Secondary School set a new record of 4.36.28 seconds in the Senior Boys 1, 500 metres.
The previous record of 4.41.75 seconds was set in 2015.
Torika Radovu of Davuilevu Methodist High School set a new record of 1.1:06 seconds in the Sub-Junior Girls 400 metres heat.
Adi Cakobau School and Lelean Memorial School are currently leading the medal tally.
According to the official medal tally by the organizers, ACS is leading the girl's division with 7 gold, 9 silver and 5 bronze.
Naitasiri Secondary School and Wainimala Secondary School are tied in second place at the moment with 2 gold, I silver and 1 bronze each.
In the boy's division, Lelean Memorial School is leading with 3 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze while Wainimala Secondary School is second is 2 gold and 3 silver medals.
Lomaivuna High School is in third place with 2 gold and 2 bronze.
