Parramatta Eels star winger, Maika Sivo has returned to Sydney for an operation on his hand after a mystery infection flared upon his return to Momi village.
Sivo’s Agent, Cameron Phelps told fox sports that Sivo contacted the Eels management team after the infection on his hand flared up and they had requested him to return to Sydney for the operation.
Sivo had a breakout rookie season for the Eels this year, where he finished as the NRL’s top try scorer.
He was recently rewarded for his stunning performances with an upgraded contract with the Eels which will see him remain with the club until the end of the 2021 season.
Sivo featured in 25 NRL games in his first season and went on to represent Fiji at the World Cup Nines and in the Oceania Cup.
