Watching craft videos on YouTube has helped 21-year-old Kalara Singh broaden her knowledge of making macrame jewellery and helping her mother run their jewellery business called Notical Jewels to support their family.
While speaking to fijivillage News during the Garden City Market Day, Singh says she learned the art of crafting jewellery on YouTube and she thought of putting it to good use.
Singh says her mother has been running the business for over 10 years, and she joined in assisting her mother during COVID-19 since they were at home with little to do.
According to Singh, Notical Jewels, formerly known as Marama Creations, primarily focuses on handmade jewellery and operates as a home-based business that also sells products online.
She adds their products are sold for as low as $2. Singh adds participating in the market day allows them to earn more profit, as they have regular customers, and they make it a point to attend every month.
