Leaders of respective organisations and Ramayan Mandalis are urged to utilise the occasion of Ram Navami to raise awareness and educate the youth and the public about the fight against drugs in Fiji.
While sharing his message for Ram Navami celebration, Minister for Multi-Ethnic Affairs and Sugar Industry, Charan Jeath Singh, extended his greetings to the Hindu community across Fiji, saying that Ram Navami is not only a celebration of the birth of Lord Rama, Lord Vishnu’s avatar, but also a time for reflection, devotion, unity, understanding, and respect among people.
He says Hindus across Fiji will gather for eight nights in temples and homes to perform puja ceremonies, worship, and celebrate, fostering bonds of kinship and spirituality.
The Minister says mandalis should organise sessions during the festival and invite guest speakers who can address Fiji's growing drug-related and social issues.
He has wished everyone a joyous and blessed Ram Navami.
