The Kaiviti Silktails dominated Glebe Dirty Reds 38-16 to earn their first win in the Ron Massey Cup competition.
Defensively both sides came out firing, however, Glebe Dirty Reds made an unforced error which gifted Silktails the attacking field position early in the game.
Ratu Inoke Vasuturaga went across for the first try of the game and was successfully converted by five-eighth Waisale Nayavucere.
A terrific kick by Silktails’s halfback Penioni Tagituimua in the 14th minute saw centre Tomasi Vanicagi go over in the corner and followed by a try from Hooker Api Lutumawi to give the Silktails an 18-10 lead at the break.
Other tries for the Silktails came from Samuel Daveta, Tomasi Vakadranu and Pio Seci.
The Kaiviti Silktails next match is against the WS Magpies at 5pm this Saturday.
