Minister for Commerce and Trade, Faiyaz Koya says a further decrease in fuel and gas prices is expected in June.
While announcing a significant decrease in fuel and gas prices today, Koya says one thing we must remember with respect to Fiji, the effect actually lags – which means we are now getting the effect of something that happened a little while ago.
Koya says the price for unleaded fuel has dropped by 26 cents from $2.06 to $1.80 a litre, diesel price will drop from $1.71 to $1.67.
There is a huge reduction in kerosene prices as a litre will cost $1.08 from today. The current price is $1.47.

Pre-mix fuel will also drop by 47 cents from $1.90 a litre to $1.43.
Gas prices have also dropped where the price of a 12kg cylinder has dropped by $1.05 and will cost $37.42 from tomorrow.
A 13kg cylinder will cost $40.53. The current price is $41.67.
The price of a 4.5kg cylinder has dropped by 40 cents and will cost $14.03.
The price of auto gas has dropped by 4 cents and will cost $1.74 per litre from today.
